SELAK: RESPECT FOR SRPSKA'S COMPETENCES - FOUNDATION OF INSTITUTIONAL STABILITY
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 4 /SRNA/ - The Ministry of Justice of Republika Srpska is committed to strengthening the independence, professionalism, and efficiency of the judicial system; legal certainty and the consistent application of the law are the foundation of stability and citizens' trust in institutions, Minister Goran Selak stated at today's meeting in Banja Luka with representatives of the US Embassy in BiH.
Selak emphasized the importance of respecting the constitutional framework and the clearly defined competences of Republika Srpska as the basis of institutional stability, the Ministry of Justice of Republika Srpska said in a press release. The interlocutors agreed that continuous dialogue between institutions represents an important contribution to preserving stability and strengthening the rule of law in Republika Srpska and BiH. They also discussed improving legal certainty and cooperation between the executive authorities of Republika Srpska and the United States, particularly in the areas of strengthening institutional capacities, exchanging experiences, and supporting reform processes within constitutional competences. Readiness was confirmed at the meeting to continue constructive cooperation between the executive authorities of Republika Srpska and U.S. institutions through open dialogue, technical and expert cooperation, as well as projects that contribute to improving the work of judicial institutions, with mutual respect and acknowledgment of institutional competences. The delegation of the U.S. Embassy in BiH included Political Section Director Mark Rosenshield and the Director of the US Embassy Office in Banja Luka Todd Bullock.
