DODIK TO "LINDEL" TV: ONLY INDEPENDENT REPUBLIKA SRPSKA CAN PROTECT SERB PEOPLE

WASHINGTON, FEBRUARY 7 /SRNA/ – SNSD President Milorad Dodik said in an interview with the US television station "Lindel" that he is fighting for the independence of Republika Srpska because, as he claimed, Muslims are trying to turn the Serb people in BiH into a minority.

"Separation would mean that they would run their affairs and we ours. As things stand now, we cannot deal with our own matters because centralization and complete minimization of our role are being imposed on us from Europe and the Muslim community," Dodik stated. Dodik pointed out that in local areas where Muslims are in the majority, property is being taken away from Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church and registered as belonging to their public authorities. "To preserve our community, we must have an independent country," Dodik said, pointing out that Muslims in BiH are allies of Iran and strong opponents of Israel and Jews. He stated that Republika Srpska has 1.2 million inhabitants, which by American standards is small, but noted that at least five countries in the region have fewer citizens, with Montenegro as one example. Dodik emphasized the importance of US engagement in the Balkans and expressed confidence that the politics of US President Donald Trump would contribute to stabilization and the correction of injustices. "Trump has brought more stability to the world. We want to see that return," Dodik said. He added that the administration of US President Joseph Biden imposed sanctions on him after he supported Trump, as well as on his entire family, that all their accounts were shut down, and that they were treated as second-class citizens. "They sowed a great deal of harm in our region," Dodik stressed. Dodik said it would be a great honor for him to meet with Trump, wishing him good health and success, and asking that he stop for two minutes and look at the map of Republika Srpska. He added that the citizens of Srpska believe that Trump has honest and honorable intentions and that he is returning the state and the people to themselves.
