KOVAČEVIĆ: KARAN’S VICTORY – PROOF OF CITIZENS’ READINESS TO DEFEND SRPSKA

SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 12 /SRNA/ – The victory of SNSD presidential candidate, Siniša Karan, in the snap elections in Republika, with more than 70 percent of the vote, clearly shows that the Srpska citizens recognized an attack on the Republic, said the party’s spokesperson Radovan Kovačević.

Kovačević stated that there had been a will in Sarajevo and the Republika Srpska opposition to be part of a Sarajevo conspiracy against Republika Srpska, aimed at overturning the will of its people. “I believe it is very important that the Republika Srpska citizens clearly recognized what this was about, and that this has now been clearly demonstrated in these repeat snap elections,” Kovačević said. He told Newsmax Balkans television that Karan won in 134 out of 136 polling stations where the repeat snap presidential elections in Srpska were held, that the repeat elections took place in 17 local communities, and that the SNSD candidate won in 16 of them, adding that the result in Prijedor had been reversed, which is all a reason for satisfaction. “We have reason to be satisfied because we managed to ensure that the Republika Srpska citizens understand what we are talking about, that the citizens are ready to defend Srpska, to defend the law and the Serb people’s right to be a political decision-making people,” Kovačević emphasized.
