RADIĆ: SRPSKA ATTRACTIVE TO TOURISTS, WE MUST INVEST MORE IN OFFER
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 20 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska has much to offer and can take advantage of global trends as more and more tourists visit rural areas and show interest in active holidays, Marko Radić, Head of the Tourism Promotion Department at the Tourism Organization of Republika Srpska, told SRNA.
"There is room for improvement, primarily when it comes to infrastructure. We are a rural destination, and that is a global trend - visits to unexplored and lesser-known destinations. As such, we are attractive to tourists," Radić said in SRNA's podcast. He pointed out that the region, including Republika Srpska, is facing a shortage of labor. "This should not be hidden and cannot be hidden. During the season, we are short of around 3,000 workers. This affects the quality of service. It is particularly noticeable in Trebinje, and also in Banja Luka. We have reached a situation where prices are higher, but the service is poorer," Radić stated. He emphasized that more work is needed to encourage domestic tourists to travel more within Republika Srpska, stressing that it offers everything that countries in the region do. "We have everything that is in demand worldwide - nature, hiking and cycling trails, and more. We have mountaineering associations, guides, and an increasing number of people who enjoy such activities. We are that kind of destination. We just need to promote it in that way," Radić said. In SRNA's podcast, Radić also spoke about why it is necessary to revise the voucher system, why trade fairs are a good opportunity for local communities in Republika Srpska, and how to encourage people to start engaging in tourism. The new episode of SRNA's podcast, featuring Marko Radić, Head of the Tourism Promotion Department at the Tourism Organization of Republika Srpska, will be available to users of the agency's service, on social media, and on its YouTube channel tomorrow from 10:00 a.m.
