CVIJANOVIĆ: FIRST CONSTITUTION ESTABLISHED REPUBLIKA SRPSKA’S FREEDOM, CONSTITUTIONAL ORDER AND EXISTENCE

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 28 /SRNA/ – The adoption of the first Constitution of Republika Srpska on February 28, 1992 represents one of the most important historical events and the foundation of freedom, constitutional order, and the existence of Republika Srpska, Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović told SRNA.

Cvijanović stressed that Republika Srpska has been built and developed on these values over the past decades, despite numerous challenges, pressures and attempts to dispute it. "Each of these challenges further confirmed the strength of its institutions and the determination to preserve constitutional competencies, political stability, as well as the right to an independent stance, freedom of thought, and political action," Cvijanović stated for SRNA on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the adoption of Republika Srpska’s first Constitution. Cvijanović underlined that Republika Srpska today is stable and aware of its rights, determined to preserve its institutions and constitutional position, and to continue protecting, strengthening, and defending Republika Srpska.
