TRANSPORTERS SHOULD PUT PRESSURE AT EU DELEGATION HQ IN SARAJEVO
BELGRADE, MARCH 10 /SRNA/ - The European Commission has a completely ignorant attitude toward transporters from the Western Balkans, and the Logistika Consortium should demonstrate its capacity at the headquarters of the EU Delegation to BiH in Sarajevo, said the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Staša Košarac.
Košarac emphasized that the Council of Ministers has discussed the issue several times, but that the EU, he said, is "playing games" with the countries of the Western Balkans. "I think the countries of the Western Balkans should focus on discussions with representatives of the European Commission," Košarac told reporters in Belgrade. He emphasized that the position of the European Commission so far has been indifferent and harsh, lacking sensitivity. "I believe the Logistika Consortium should demonstrate its capacity not at border crossings, but at the headquarters of the EU Delegation to BiH in Sarajevo," said Staša Košarac. He believes that a form of activity involving blockades should be demonstrated in Sarajevo because stopping foreign trade traffic at border crossings causes serious damage to businesses both in Republika Srpska and the FBiH. "Of course, this does not diminish the need to resolve the issue of transporters, but at the same time, we must avoid damaging the reputation and, above all, the business contracts of our business community, both in Republika Srpska and the FBiH," emphasized Staša Košarac. He also believes that by acting ignorantly toward the problems of transporters, authorities in Europe are trying to secure cheap labor. According to him, when drivers are detained in Western European countries, they receive offers to perform their work in those countries. He pointed out that drivers from Serbia and BiH are mostly younger people, and that such workers are precisely what the European Union needs.
