DODIK: SRPSKA HAS SITUATION UNDER CONTROL
BIJELJINA, MARCH 10 /SRNA/ – SNSD Leader, Milorad Dodik, says Republika Srpska has the fuel supply-related situation under control.
"Some kind of fuss and noise is always created, and suddenly someone who has no understanding of life, the economy, or how a state functions proposes a law to abolish all fuel excise duties. How would you maintain transport then? That is ridiculous," Dodik told the press in Bijeljina. He assessed that such proposals could only come from those who have no understanding of real life and who are trying to raise this issue to a political level. He pointed out that European banks, when asked to provide funds for road construction, require stable revenue as a condition. "That means you cannot change excise duties whenever you feel like it or grant exemptions to anyone, because that would not be a secure arrangement and you would lose credibility. However, then someone at the level of BiH appears who wants to sell the story /about abolishing excise duties/," Dodik said. Without roads and motorways, Dodik says, there can be neither economy nor arrival of people. "People leave via small, worn-out and dilapidated roads, while they come via big ones," Dodik said, adding that Republika Srpska will keep building roads.
