KUPREŠAK: SRPSKA GETS INDEPENDENT VOICE IN WORLD ORGANIZATION OF FAMILY MEDICINE DOCTORS

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 12 /SRNA/ - Starting in June, the Association of Family Medicine Doctors of Republika Srpska will vote independently and under its own name in the European and global organizations of family doctors, which represents a major recognition, the Association's president Draško Kuprešak told SRNA.

Kuprešak stated that the decision was made at yesterday's online preparatory conference of the European Organization of Family Medicine Doctors, where the Association from Republika Srpska was represented by Primarius Danijel Atijas. "An amendment proposed by the Association from Republika Srpska to change the Organization's Statute was adopted, providing that in the future associations will have an independent vote, rather than countries, as was the case until now. Previously, there was a single vote for BiH, that is, a joint vote of the associations of family medicine doctors from Republika Srpska and the FBiH," Kuprešak explained. According to him, this is a major recognition and a sign of respect for the Association of Family Medicine Doctors of Republika Srpska in international circles. "We expect to participate more actively in the work of the bodies and committees of the World Organization of Family Doctors, and that the number of submitted professional papers and presentations from our association will increase," Kuprešak emphasized. The World Organization of Family Doctors brings together more than 280,000 members from 120 countries. According to the Organization's rules, each association with 1,000 members has one vote. There are currently 93 such associations worldwide, among which will be the Association of Family Medicine Doctors of Republika Srpska.
