ADŽIĆ: BLOCKING THE OPENING OF NEW BORDER CROSSING REFLECTS TRUE PICTURE OF BiH
GRADIŠKA, APRIL 2 /SRNA/ - The Mayor of Gradiška, Zoran Adžić, told SRNA that blocking the opening of the new border crossing in this city reflects the true picture of BiH, where an individual is stronger than all institutions.
Adžić emphasized that, unfortunately, citizens and businesses are suffering because of this, not only in Gradiška and Republika Srpska, but also in the Federation of BiH. “Where is the international community now?” Adžić asked. He said it is absurd that the highway has been opened, that the border crossing on the Republika Srpska side and the bridge have received operating permits, as well as the border crossing on the Croatian side and the express road, yet one person is stronger than all institutions and the international community. At an extraordinary session held today, the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH failed for the fifth time to reach an agreement that would enable the opening of the new Gradiška border crossing, as it was once again blocked by Zijad Krnjić, an expert member from the Federation of BiH. The Republika Srpska Chamber of Commerce has filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH against Krnjić for blocking the adoption of the necessary acts required to enable the operation of the Gradiška border crossing on the new bridge over the Sava River. More than €100 million has been invested in the overall project, which includes the construction of the bridge over the Sava River, the new border crossing, and the associated access roads. This is one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the region.
