BOSNIAKS SEEK CONTROL OVER SRPSKA AND SOC PROPERTY
BANJA LUKA, MAY 7 /SRNA/ – The Government of Republika Srpska informed the UN Security Council about what it described as Bosniak efforts to take over public property of Republika Srpska and warned about what it called a dangerous practice by the judiciary in the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ of registering Orthodox cemeteries and chapels as property owned by the "state".
The Report of the Government of Republika Srpska states that the majority of Bosniak political parties share the same goal - taking over all public property of Republika Srpska and transferring it to the level of BiH institutions, which would politically and legally undermine Srpska. This includes, the document states, natural resources, roads, schools and hospitals, which would place control over them in Bosniak hands. "In the meantime, a court in the Federation of BiH is registering Orthodox cemeteries and chapels as property owned by the 'state', which represents outright confiscation directly threatening the property, religious and historical rights of the Serbian Orthodox Church," the latest report of the Government of Republika Srpska warns. The Report states that the open obstruction of Republika Srpska and its citizens by the Bosniak political establishment was once again evident in the blocking of the opening of the new border crossing in Gradiška. "The newly built border crossing and bridge, connecting BiH with the EU /Croatia/ on the country’s busiest traffic route, worth EUR 100 million, have been ready for use since December last year, but a member of the Governing Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority from the Federation of BiH, Zijad Krnjić, has repeatedly prevented their opening for exclusively political reasons", the document states. The Report notes that Krnjić’s blockade has caused major economic losses for Republika Srpska and BiH because passengers and freight traffic are forced to use the already overloaded old crossing. "For BiH to succeed, the Bosniak political establishment must accept the Dayton Agreement, including the constitutional validation of Republika Srpska as an entity with a high degree of autonomy. Republika Srpska calls on the UN Security Council to actively support the consistent implementation of the Dayton Agreement by all actors, both within and outside BiH", the Report of the Government of Republika Srpska emphasizes.
