BAĆEVAC IN PHOTOS WITH WARTIME COMMANDER HALILOVIĆ

BIJELJINA, MAY 8 /SRNA/ - Veterans of the Panthers Guard condemned Bijeljina City Assembly Deputy Speaker Samir Baćevac for being photographed with Nezim Halilović, the wartime commander of the Fourth Muslim Brigade from Konjic, saying that the conduct of this city parliament official amounts to poking a finger in the eye of Serb victims who were killed and expelled from their homes.

In a statement, the veterans said that "the final straw" was yesterday's posing with the right index finger raised, symbolizing the Islamic belief that "there is no god but Allah". "The Republika Srpska Interior Ministry /MoI/ has filed multiple reports concerning crimes committed against the Serb people against Halilović. Samir Baćevac was also responsible for bringing Harun Hodžić, a radical imam who was a member of the El Mujahideen unit and who is also suspected of crimes against Serbs," the veterans stated. The Panthers Guard veterans reminded that Samir Baćevac's grandfather had also been a member of the Green Cadres within the Handschar Division, which committed some of the most horrific crimes against Serbs in this region, something Baćevac boasts about in TV programs. "In those programs, he presents shocking falsehoods about Bijeljina and Republika Srpska. We believe the time has come to examine Baćevac's conduct and we expect a reaction from all Serb political parties. His behavior is poking a finger in the eye of Serb victims who were killed and expelled from their homes," the statement by the Panthers Guard Veterans Association said.
