GREAT HONOR FOR REPUBLIKA SRPSKA LEADERSHIP TO ATTEND PARADE AND RECEPTION IN MOSCOW

MOSCOW, MAY 9 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan said today that the leadership of Republika Srpska was greatly honored to attend the grand military parade in Moscow and a reception hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Victory Day, adding that it demonstrated the brotherly relations between the two peoples.

"We attended a reception hosted by President Putin. It is a great honor on behalf of all citizens of Republika Srpska and the Serbian people. Our leadership’s presence at the parade showed the friendly and brotherly relations with the Russian Federation and the Russian people," Karan said after the reception with Putin. He emphasized that this represents a contribution to the idea of freedom, to the culture of remembrance, and to the preservation of memory of the anti-fascist struggle at a time when there are attempts to revise history and deny the anti-fascist struggle of the Russian and Serbian peoples and all freedom-loving nations. "This is another tribute to all those who gave their lives for the freedom of Europe, and indeed of all humanity," Karan said. He added that the delegation of Republika Srpska was shown great respect through this event. "Our delegation is honored to have had the opportunity to attend this magnificent parade. We were shown great trust," Karan concluded. The delegation of Republika Srpska also includes the Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, and SNSD leader Milorad Dodik.
