KARAN: RUSSIA-SRPSKA PARTNERSHIP BASED ON GENUINE TRUST

MOSCOW, MAY 9 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the partnership between Russia and Republika Srpska is based on genuine trust and that there is a sense of brotherhood between the Serbian and Russian peoples.

Karan thanked President Putin for the great honor shown to the delegation from Republika Srpska and its people by inviting them to attend the events in Moscow. He also said that relations have been strengthened through long-standing contacts, including those maintained with Milorad Dodik. "We feel brotherhood and friendship between the two peoples. The Russian Federation is the most important strategic partner of Republika Srpska. That partnership is based on genuine trust. Russia is a proven partner that supports the Dayton Peace Agreement," Karan said. He said that the Russian people brought victory over fascism, and that Republika Srpska also fought for its own survival. "You also said that forgetting would open space for the repetition of injustices that have occurred," Karan said. In addition to Karan, the delegation of Republika Srpska at the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin included the Speaker of the National Assembly, Nenad Stevandić, and SNSD leader Milorad Dodik.
