BANJA LUKA, MAY 13 /SRNA/ - Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship of Republika Srpska Radenko Bubić says that the agreement on cooperation in the field of metrology between a scientific institute from Saint Petersburg and the Republika Srpska Institute for Standardization and Metrology, signed today in Banja Luka, will significantly contribute to the development of this field as well as the economy.
Bubić noted after the signing that the D.I. Mendeleev Pan-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Metrology from Saint Petersburg is one of the most prestigious institutes in the world, with a history of 180 years. "Its experience and knowledge will significantly contribute to the development of this field in Republika Srpska, given the importance of standards when exporting our products to foreign markets," Bubić told the press. He added that a reciprocal visit of the Republika Srpska delegation to the institute in Saint Petersburg and to an industry fair has been agreed. Director of the Republika Srpska Institute for Standardization and Metrology Nataša Žugić emphasized the importance of the signed agreement, which serves as a framework for developing cooperation. "We will benefit from their experience, which is invaluable, because this institute represents Russia in international metrology and standardization institutions," Žugić said. Representative of the D.I. Mendeleev Pan-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Metrology Aleksandr Ivanovich Gorchev said that key points of cooperation in metrology and standardization will be defined, taking into account the institute's 180-year history. "Regardless of some complex economic and political situations in the world, measurement units remain unchanged," Gorchev said.
