ŽUPLJANIN: MUSLIM SIDE'S ARROGANCE LEADS TO BiH'S DISAPPEARANCE
BANJA LUKA, MAY 14 /SRNA/ – The arrogance of the Muslim side and attempts to place blame for the war solely on one side inevitably lead toward the disappearance of BiH, assessed Slobodan Župljanin ahead of the upcoming commemoration marking 34 years since the attack on the Tuzla Convoy, fwhich there has still been neither punishment nor condemnation for.
Župljanin recalled that on May 15, 1992, in Tuzla, people who wanted to leave the barracks and the city peacefully were killed, wounded, and captured in the attack on the JNA convoy, whose only "sin" was attempting to do so without armed conflict. As happened countless times during the war, Župljanin said that the Muslim side violated a previously reached agreement and committed a bloody crime without any real reason or necessity. Župljanin stated that the attackers killed people cowardly and treacherously from an ambush, out of hatred toward Serbs and everything with Serb prefix, firing from rooftops, windows, basements, and apartments in residential buildings. "Although by this act they committed a war crime punishable under all international and then-domestic regulations, no one has been held accountable for this crime, but that in no way means it did not happen," Župljanin told SRNA. He stressed that the BiH judiciary applies justice selectively, therefore even after 34 years there has been no conviction or punishment for the crime committed by Muslim forces against JNA members in the Tuzla Convoy in 1992. He emphasized that the selective application of justice undermines the foundations of even the minimal possibility of reconciliation and coexistence in BiH. "The arrogance of the Muslim side and attempts to shift responsibility for wartime events onto only one side inevitably lead toward the disappearance of BiH," Župljanin warned. He stated that current geopolitical relations leave open the possibility of resetting and returning Bosnia and Herzegovina into the hands of local politicians, and whether that will happen depends exclusively on the Bosniak political factor in the country. Muslim paramilitary forces attacked the JNA convoy in Tuzla on May 15, 1992. Based on a previously reached agreement, the convoy was supposed to leave the Tuzla barracks peacefully. In the attack, 51 persosns were killed, three more later died from their wounds, while 78 persons were injured.
