KOVAČEVIĆ: IS MARKING OF COMPANIES FROM SERBIA ANNOUNCEMENT OF NIGHT OF BROKEN GLASS IN SARAJEVO?

SARAJEVO, May 13 /SRNA/ – "Is this an announcement of a Night of Broken Glass in Sarajevo?" asked Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Radovan Kovačević, commenting on the graffiti and markings placed on shops belonging to companies from Serbia in Sarajevo.

"It must be said openly that this dangerously resembles 1914, when shops owned by Serbs in Sarajevo were destroyed and burned, as well as 1992, when apartments and houses where Serbs lived were similarly marked," Kovačević posted on X. He says that the shops with graffiti, or better say markings, seen in the photographs published by Slobodna Bosna are owned by companies from Serbia, which is the only reason they were marked in this manner. "We must not forget that several years ago the bakeries of the Manja bakery chain from Banja Luka were repeatedly attacked by vandals until the owners decided to permanently close their branches in Sarajevo," Kovačević stressed. It is obvious, he says, that after nearly all Serbs were expelled from Sarajevo during the last civil war, there is still no place in the city today for anything Serbian. "I call on the competent authorities to react urgently and protect the safety of these companies and their employees," Kovačević added. Graffiti appeared on the premises of companies from Serbia operating in Sarajevo, marking each of the stores.
