KRNJIĆ AGAIN BLOCKED ADOPTION OF REGULATIONS, OPENING OF NEW BORDER CROSSING IMPOSSIBLE

BANJA LUKA, MAY 19 /SRNA/ - In today's online meeting, the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Administration /ITA/ of BiH did not adopt the amendments to the Rulebook on the internal organization of the ITA because Zijad Krnjić, a member of the Management Board from among experts appointed by the Government of the Federation of BiH /FBiH/, voted against it.

Due to the lack of consensus and one vote against, traffic to Croatia and entry into BiH has been completely suspended, as it is impossible to open a new border crossing in Gradiška while the old one is closed due to the collapse of the bridge, the Cabinet of the Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers announced. The online meeting of the Board of ITA was scheduled this morning by order of the chairman Srđan Amidžić, due to the emergency situation due to the collapse of part of the bridge at the Gradiška border crossing and the danger it poses to citizens and property. Krnjić demanded that, apart from the extraordinary circumstances in Gradiška, four items related to the adoption of income distribution and settlement coefficients for the past three years should be put on the agenda before voting on the Rulebook. Before voting, the members of the Board of Directors also received requests from businessmen as well as a letter from the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH for the creation of conditions for the release of traffic in Gradiška towards the EU. The new crossing Gradiška - Novi Most was built and fully equipped in December last year when it was supposed to be officially opened, but it never happened because Krnjić voted five times against the amendments to the Rulebook on systematization so that the director of the ITA would issue decisions on the redistribution of customs and other officials at the new crossing.
