DODIK: SYSTEMATIC DOCUMENTATION OF SERB SUFFERING IMPORTANT
BANJA LUKA, MAY 19 /SRNA/ - The formation of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska is extremely important, because the goal is to systematically document the historical suffering of the Serb people, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik pointed out today in Banja Luka.
"I did not hesitate to support the formation of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska and I am grateful to the director of the center Denis Bojić and his associates for their dedicated work, and to the families of the victims who found the strength to bear witness again to the horrors they experienced in the last war," said Dodik at the ceremonial academy of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska. He emphasized that it is very important that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will consider legal provisions related to the rights of veterans. "We will further improve the position of the veterans. The institutions of Republika Srpska have been persistently working to improve the position of the military categories, but also to ensure that the suffering of the Serb people is not forgotten," pointed out Dodik. Dodik announced that in a few days, with the agreement with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, there will be a meeting of the Coordinating Body for the construction of the memorial area of Donja Gradina. "The digitization done by the Memorial Center will be an unavoidable part of the memorial area of Donja Gradina," said Dodik. According to him, other nations have formed a story about their own suffering based on untruths. "An example is that more than 400 names carved in Potočari were those who are alive. We don't need false testimony; we need the truth!" said Dodik. He noted that the digitization of the suffering of the Serb people is important for the sake of future generations. "We will cooperate with the institutions of Serbia on the issue of the suffering of the Serb people. It is a unique truth that must be preserved. We must legally regulate the area related to our suffering," said Dodik. The ceremonial academy of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska ended with speeches and an appropriate program.
