SNSD TO NOMINATE JOINT CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENT OF SRPSKA AND SERB MEMBER OF THE PRESIDENCY

BANJA LUKA, MAY 20 /SRNA/ - The SNSD will nominate candidates for the President of Republika Srpska and the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH for the October elections, whom all parties in the ruling coalition will support, said SNSD leader Milorad Dodik.

"All parties will run in the elections for the National Assembly of Republika Srpska on separate lists, but we all jointly express the goal of securing a two-thirds majority for our coalition, so that we have enough mandates to form the government," Dodik said at a press conference in Banja Luka following a meeting of the ruling coalition. He stressed that this would also serve as a basis for positioning at the level of BiH, where the goal is to secure 10 seats in the House of Representatives. "From the standpoint of this result in Republika Srpska, this coalition should provide four members of the House of Peoples. That is a joint goal, and we will move toward it in an organized and very clear way," Dodik said. He said that it has been agreed that all political parties will maintain their level of participation after the upcoming elections. "This means that if some party has a lower share of participation, they will still be guaranteed the level they currently have. Those who secure more will get more," Dodik said. Dodik stated that Republika Srpska is peaceful, stable, developed, and growing, and that the ruling coalition is also growing, not only in terms of the number of participants, but also in terms of the support it enjoys. The meeting of the ruling coalition was attended by SNSD leader Milorad Dodik, United Srpska leader Nenad Stevandić, SP leader Petar Đokić, SPS leader Goran Selak, DEMOS leader Nedeljko Čubrilović, NPS leader Darko Banjac, and DNS leader Nenad Nešić.
