MACUT ANNOUNCES TALKS WITH MINIĆ ON JOINT INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
BELGRADE, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut said in a statement to SRNA that on Saturday, May 23, in Trebinje, he will hold a meeting with Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić on concrete plans for the implementation of joint infrastructure projects, primarily the construction of the Trebinje airport and that he will also visit the newly built hospital in the city.
Macut said that the upcoming meeting in Trebinje with Minić is an opportunity to continue discussions initiated at a meeting in April in Belgrade, where infrastructure, transport and other projects and cooperation were discussed. He noted that he will visit the site of the future Trebinje airport to see how expropriation is progressing and to be informed about the process of obtaining permits and coordination, which are very complex. "These are all good first steps toward deeper integration of our peoples, primarily in cultural and educational, but also economic terms", Macut said. Macut stressed that cooperation between Serbia and the educational and scientific community of Republika Srpska will continue, with the idea of forming a broader scientific zone within universities oriented toward Republika Srpska. He said that universities in Republika Srpska, with their capacities and staff, should be oriented toward Serbia, as they were in previous decades. "A new momentum awaits us, and in the coming period we will have intensive cooperation in this regard as well. I believe this is of great importance for cooperation between our brotherly people. We are one people, divided only by the Drina into two sectors", Macut said. He expressed hope that his stay in Trebinje will be successful and that all these plans will be concretized, adding that the Serbian Government delegation will also include representatives of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure. "We will concretize some basic elements. It will also be my pleasure to visit the new hospital in Trebinje, which was also built with the initiative of Serbia", Macut pointed out.
