AMIDŽIĆ: IF SRPSKA WERE DECIDING, WE WOULD ALL LIVE BETTER IN BiH
BANJA LUKA, May 26 /SRNA/ – Chairman of the Governing Board of the BiH Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/, Srđan Amidžić, said that the absence of members from the FBiH from today's session best illustrates their negative attitude toward resolving important issues affecting all citizens in BiH, stressing that it has become evident that "BiH has been reduced to Republika Srpska".
"If Republika Srpska were deciding for itself, and also for the FBiH, we would all live better in BiH. I cannot understand that those who failed to attend today’s session do not realize how important issues are for citizens, such as the refund of a significant portion of VAT on a first property purchase, which many people were expecting. Today, unfortunately, we are witnessing that colleagues from the Federation do not want to help not only people from Srpska but also people from the FBiH," Amidžić said. He added that Republika Srpska representatives. through their attendance and example, wanted to help all citizens and provide relief measures for first-home purchases. "The fact that FBiH members were not here is yet another proof that BiH is economically unsustainable and that, from the entity perspective, we would function better with autonomy in economic decision-making," Amidžić told the press, referring to the agenda of the Governing Board session, which included proposed amendments to the Rulebook on Internal Organisation within the ITA concerning the border crossing in Gradiška, amendments to the Rulebook on the implementation of the VAT Law related to incentives for first-home purchases, as well as a decision on establishing temporary revenue distribution coefficients and settlements among beneficiaries. Amidžić said that the decision regarding first-home purchases would mean that every citizen could receive approximately BAM 25,000 in VAT refunds in that context. "That is something the people from the FBiH did not want, but I am sending them this message – just as we opened the bridge in Gradiška, we will not give up on all matters important to the people of Republika Srpska," Amidžić said.
