NATIONAL ASSEMBLY DECLARATION LEAVES ROOM FOR SRPSKA'S LEGAL CHALLENGE AGAINST ILLEGITIMATE SCHMIDT

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MAY 27 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska has taken a firm position on the OHR and the National Assembly's declaration leaves room for launching a legal challenge before international institutions against Christian Schmidt's illegitimate activities, Miroslav Vujičić, a member of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, told SRNA.

Vujičić emphasized that the National Assembly is the place where the most important decisions for Republika Srpska are made, it is therefore significant that a high degree of unity was achieved on this issue. He noted that, by adopting the Declaration on closing the Office of High Representative /OHR/, the Republika Srpska National Assembly unanimously sent a clear message that it does not accept the continued activities of that body, which has for years acted to the detriment of Srpska and the Serb people. "The culmination of OHR’s harmful actions and the further complication of the political situation in BiH has been reached recently, particularly through the actions of Christian Schmidt, whom Republika Srpska authorities consider illegitimate," Vujičić said. Vujičić stated that all politicians in Republika Srpska, regardless of their differences, should stand behind positions concerning the protection of Republika Srpska's constitutional status. Yesterday, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted the Declaration closing the Office of High Representative in BiH, calling for the termination of the high representative's office and the closure of the OHR.
