CVIJANOVIĆ: TIME HAS COME TO CLOSE OHR

PRNJAVOR, MAY 27 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović pointed out that the Office of the High Representative /OHR/ is an unnecessary, obsolete and harmful institution, making the Republika Srpska National Assembly's adoption of the Declaration on the Closure of the OHR a logical move.

"What will happen next remains to be seen, but what we do know is that major steps have begun regarding the redefinition of the OHR's position, as well as a confrontation with the Bonn powers. The time for redefinition has come and the ultimate goal is the abolition of the position of high representative and the closure of the OHR in BiH," Cvijanović told reporters in Prnjavor. Cvijanović stressed that everything the OHR had done was unlawful. "We want to show that we are resourceful and that we have worked diligently. Every international forum is an opportunity to speak about the burdens that exist in BiH, and one of them is the OHR," Cvijanović said. Yesterday, deputies in the Republika Srpska National Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Closure of the Office of the High Representative /OHR/, calling for the termination of the high representative's mandate in BiH and the shutdown of the OHR.
