GRBIĆ: PETAR KOČIĆ THEATRE FEST'S QUALITY UNDISPUTED
BANJA LUKA, MAY 29 /SRNA/ – Director of the Republika Srpska National Theatre Dijana Grbić told SRNA that high-quality theatre plays will be performed at the Petar Kočić Theatre Fest, which begins on June 4, emphasizing that this year's event will be held in an expanded format.
"This means that we are already performing plays in local communities as part of the National Theatre with the People programme, prepared by the Republika Srpska National Theatre," Grbić stated in SRNA podcast. She stressed that the official programme consists of six theatre plays. "With the support of the Office of the Republika Srpska President, we are succeeding in maintaining high-quality work. After six days of top plays from the region, the festival will close with the play `Martin Udio,` which has attracted enormous public attention and represents the crowning achievement of a successful season," Grbić emphasized. Grbić noted that investment in local production, namely in the staff of this cultural institution, is producing strong results reflected in the realization of significant theatre plays. "We strive to preserve the distinctiveness of our festivals, including the Petar Kočić Theatre Fest. We nurture the plays based on texts by local authors and seek high production quality," Grbić said. She pointed out that the Republika Srpska National Theatre attracts an increasingly larger audience each year, especially young people, thanks to programmes designed for school-age children. The new episode of SRNA podcast, featuring National Theatre of Republika Srpska Director Dijana Grbić as the guest, will be available tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. to the subscribers of the agency's service, as well as on social media platforms and its YouTube channel.
