ANĐELKOVIĆ: BOSNIAKS SEE THE OHR AS MEANS OF ACHIEVING THEIR WARTIME GOALS
BELGRADE, JUNE 14 /SRNA/ – Political analyst Dragomir Anđelković assessed that Bosniak politicians, through their attitude toward the OHR, demonstrate that they do not truly care about BiH, but rather see the OHR as a means of achieving wartime objectives they failed to accomplish.
Commenting on the decision of the Bosniak Caucus in the Republika Srpska Council of Peoples to invoke the mechanism for the protection of vital national interests regarding the declaration of the Republika Srpska parliament calling for the closure of the OHR, Anđelković told SRNA that this shows how much Bosniak politicians care about BiH as an independent country. “It is clear that they do not care about that, because BiH cannot be independent if it has a colonial governor,” Anđelković told SRNA. He believes that Bosniaks are fighting to preserve the OHR because they think that, with its assistance, they can achieve unrealized wartime goals - a unitary state concept and the reduction of the Serb people to the status of a national minority. “They failed to achieve this, and now they are evidently relying on promises from certain Western circles that these goals will gradually be realized with the help of the OHR, through the High Representative undermining Republika Srpska and the Dayton framework, ultimately leading to a centralization that was not established during the war,” Anđelković explained. He pointed out that such a BiH would still be a kind of vassal state under the control of NATO powers. “But it would be a centralized vassal BiH in which the Sarajevo political elite would hold all authority, which is precisely the objective of Bosniak politicians. They are not interested in independence or the Dayton Peace Agreement, but in the centralization of BiH, even at the cost of accepting long-term vassal status, because what matters to them is governing over Serbs and Croats,” Anđelković emphasized.
