LAVROV: NAZISM REVIVING IN EUROPE
MOSCOW, JUNE 16 /SRNA–RIA Novosti/ – Nazism revival trend has emerged in Europe, and it is being said that Germany should restore its former military strength in order to possess the strongest army on the continent, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated.
"The West is returning to attempts to restore its role as a hegemon, deciding everything for everyone. In that context, a trend toward the revival of Nazism has emerged, primarily in Europe, where it is already being said that Germany should restore its former military power in order to have the strongest army in Europe," Lavrov told the press. He criticized the administration of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, accusing it of openly pursuing a policy of rehabilitating Nazi war criminals. Lavrov stated that Europe supports Ukraine in this regard, including the reburial of Ukrainian collaborators with Nazi Germany who had been convicted by the Nuremberg Trials, while at the same time claiming that Zelenskyy is defending European values. Lavrov was referring to a ceremony held near Kyiv in May in which Zelenskyy participated in the reburial of Andriy Melnyk, a leader of the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists.
