ANIČIĆ: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA GOVERNMENT'S INCENTIVES TO BE DIRECTED TOWARD EQUIPPING BUTCHER TRAINING CLASSROOM
PRIJEDOR, JUNE 23 /SRNA/ - The Agricultural and Food School in Prijedor will use BAM 50,000 approved by the Government of Republika Srpska for this institution to equip a practical training classroom for butchers, which is an in-demand occupation, the school director Goran Aničić told SRNA today.
"We will have a small butcher shop with all the necessary tools, tables, and equipment," Aničić said. He stated that this school has been receiving incentives for the third consecutive year to improve experimental and development centres, with the funds being invested in equipping practical training classrooms, renewing existing agricultural machinery, and purchasing new machinery. Aničić said that in previous years, through the same program, the Agricultural and Food School acquired a modern oven with a dough maturation chamber for bakers, as well as part of an agrochemical laboratory, which has been accredited and licensed by the relevant ministry for soil analysis. He said that part of the machinery for the school’s machine park has also been purchased, as some of the machines dated back to 1984, when the school was founded. "These funds are very useful for us to keep up with the development of agricultural machinery," Aničić emphasized. He reminded that the Government of Republika Srpska provides similar support to the other two secondary agricultural schools in Republika Srpska — in Banja Luka and Bijeljina. The Agricultural and Food School in Prijedor plans to enroll 88 students in six study programs for the next school year. According to the preliminary ranking list, 14 prospective secondary school students applied for the veterinary technician program, four for agricultural technician, two for agritourism technician, and one for food technician. Six students applied for the baking trade, while three children enrolled for the butchery trade. These two occupations are in shortage, and the Government of Republika Srpska provides these students with scholarships of 100 BAM per month and covers their transportation costs. The second enrollment period will take place from July 1 to July 3. At its session on Thursday, June 18, the Government of Republika Srpska approved BAM 50,000 for the Agricultural and Food School in Prijedor to improve practical training.
