INVESTMENT OF BAM 200,000 FOR MODERNIZATION OF VUČIJAK STUD FARM
PRNJAVOR, JUNE 23 /SRNA/ - The Government of Republika Srpska's support of BAM 200,000, intended for the Public Institution Vučijak Stud Farm in Prnjavor, will enable a more modern approach to horse management, improvement of housing and feeding conditions, as well as further development of its experimental and educational centre, the institution's acting director Ranko Grubešić told SRNA.
Grubešić said that since 2009, when the stud farm became fully owned by the Government of Republika Srpska, the government has continuously supported its development in line with the institution's needs. "Support of BAM 200,000 earmarked for this purpose will enable us to establish a modern system of horse management at the stud farm, new feeding concepts, and accommodation that will ensure comfort, safety, and the needs of the animals, staff, and visitors," Grubešić said. He said that planned investments include the purchase of an automatic horse walker, automatic waterers, and improvement of the feeding system, which should contribute to better health, fitness, and breeding results of Lipizzaner horses. Grubešić stressed that investments in the Vučijak Stud Farm will also be important for Prnjavor, as they create the preconditions for the development of new educational, tourism, and cultural content. "The local community gains a space where workshops, art colonies, and other activities that do not disturb the stud farm's environment can be organized, while horse breeders will be able to observe modern models of successful management and breeding based on our example," Grubešić said. He pointed out that the stud farm is actively working to ensure all zootechnical and health conditions necessary for quality horse breeding, as well as to modernize production and operations. The Mayor of Prnjavor Darko Tomaš welcomed the Government of Republika Srpska's decision to allocate BAM 200,000 to the Vučijak Stud Farm and thanked them for their continuous support for the development of this institution. He told SRNA that this stud farm is unique in Republika Srpska and represents one of its greatest tourism potentials. At its session on Thursday, June 18, the Government of Republika Srpska approved BAM 200,000 for the Vučijak Stud Farm for the development of its experimental-educational centre to improve conditions for horse accommodation and feeding.
