FUNDS IN SERBIA SHOULD BE USED FOR COOPERATION BETWEEN SCIENTISTS

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 23 /SRNA/ - The Prime Minister of Serbia Đuro Macut said that at today’s meeting with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić in Banja Luka, discussions included establishing funds in Serbia to support cooperation within consortia of scientists from Serbia and Republika Srpska, which would raise the level of cooperation in the field of science.

"I hope for the establishment of even stronger ties. This is a shared scientific space within our community," Macut said at a press conference in Banja Luka. He said that a working group will also be formed to focus on science and higher education. "We also discussed expanding cultural ties. This is a good moment to show that Višegrad and the Andrić Institute can serve as a foundation for launching the Andrić Days, or gatherings on the Drina River, which unites the Serbian people on both sides," Macut said. He said that the meeting also discussed the continuation of infrastructure projects, particularly road infrastructure, as well as the opening of a tender and completion of documentation for the revitalisation of the railway route from Mokra Gora to Višegrad. "In addition, air routes are also important in terms of transport," Macut said. He expressed hope that monthly meetings between representatives of the governments of Serbia and Republika Srpska will contribute to the faster implementation of agreed joint projects.
