MINIĆ CONDEMNS SHOOTING AT ORTHODOX CROSS, URGES SWIFT ACTION BY CANTONAL AUTHORITIES
BANJA LUKA, JUNE 23 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić strongly condemned the desecration of an Orthodox cross and cemetery near Travnik and called on the authorities of the Central Bosnia Canton to sanction those responsible.
"It is especially troubling that this happened in a place where the number of Serbs and Orthodox Christians is statistically negligible. I call on the authorities of the Central Bosnia Canton to sanction those responsible for the shooting incident", Minić wrote on the social media platform X. According to the Committee for the Protection of Serb Rights in the Federation of BiH, dozens of rounds were fired from a firearm at an Orthodox cross and in the direction of a former Orthodox cemetery in the Travnik-area village of Zaselje. The cross was erected by a Serb who was expelled from Travnik and now lives in Australia.
