VUČIĆ: WE HAVE ACHIEVED GREAT THINGS FOR SERBIA, PRESERVED PEACE AND INDEPENDENCE
BELGRADE, JUNE 27 /SRNA/ – Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić said today at the "Serbia – One Family" gathering that much had been achieved for Serbia over the past 14 years, including preserving peace and independence, and stressed that there had never been any negotiations over whom Kosovo and Metohija belong to.
Vučić stressed they had managed to preserve peace under the most difficult circumstances, safeguard freedom, create more than 550,000 jobs, attract tens of billions in investment, and build motorways. "You, the citizens of Serbia, are the ones building this country, because when we are together and united, we can achieve anything. You knew how to preserve Serbia at a decisive moment," Vučić said while addressing the gathering held on the plateau in front of the National Assembly building in Belgrade. He emphasized that living standards must continue to improve because more can always be achieved, but also admitted that mistakes had been made, poor choices and appointing people who cared more about themselves than about the citizens and Serbia. "We must get rid of such people. We must not repeat those mistakes," Vučić added. He also said that political mistakes had been made, but stressed that they had always stood by their country and had never negotiated over whom Kosovo and Metohija belong to. "For us, that is sacred, and we will always stand by it," Vučić said, greeting Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, telling them that Serbia would always stand with them. He noted that people had come to the gathering from all parts of the country, as well as from Republika Srpska, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. "Thank you for that," Vučić said. The gathering was also attended by Republika Srpska officials, including President Milorad Dodik, National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić, and Prime Minister Savo Minić. At the beginning of the main programme, humanoid robots performed the traditional Serbian Moravac folk dance.
