KOVAČEVIĆ: CONCEPT OF TAKING OVER SERB CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE WILL FAIL
SARAJEVO, JUNE 30 /SRNA/ – The Serb delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Radovan Kovačević said that the concept of appropriating and taking over Serb history, culture and heritage in BiH, which has existed for centuries, will not succeed, adding that this was also clearly stated yesterday by Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović.
Kovačević said that what happened in the BiH Presidency yesterday is clear proof of how members Denis Bećirović, Željko Komšić, and political Sarajevo view BiH. "That is a BiH in which Serbs and Republika Srpska are asked nothing, but instead the will of political Sarajevo is imposed on them", Kovačević emphasized. He stressed that Cvijanović's reaction was adequate and sent a clear message that no one will impose anything on Republika Srpska or Serbs. "That nonsense that you are talking about returning foreign members after 30 years into a commission to outvote Serbs together with you, and then claiming there is no international element and no basis for the Serb member of the Presidency to invoke a veto, that is something one can hardly believe", Kovačević told reporters. He reminded of the period when Michael Murphy was the US ambassador to BiH. "I must remind you of one thing. In the previous period, when the US ambassador Michael Murphy, evil man, was present in BiH, we received information that at one meeting with representatives of political parties from Sarajevo he told them to completely ignore the decisions of Republika Srpska and act as if they were independent. And when one Sarajevo party representative asked him what would happen if Serbs from Republika Srpska did the same in their positions, he reportedly said: `then we will prosecute them through the judiciary`", Kovačević reminded. He reiterated that any concept of BiH in which Serbs can be outvoted without the possibility of protection will not succeed.
