POSSIBLE SPECIAL SESSION OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA PARLIAMENT AT CVIJANOVIĆ’S REQUEST
BANJA LUKA, JUNE 30 /SRNA/ - Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly Nenad Stevandić said that, before the regular parliamentary session scheduled for July 7, a special session could be held at the request of the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović.
Stevandić said he had been informed about the outvoting in the Presidency of BiH regarding the decision on the appointment of members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH. "It is an attempt to appoint foreigners to the Commission to Preserve National Monuments, which is unconstitutional and outside the Dayton framework. I am glad they have allowed us to once again show how the National Assembly of Republika Srpska annuls decisions of the BiH Presidency adopted by outvoting," Stevandić told reporters in Banja Luka. He added that he expects a request from Cvijanović so that a special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska can be scheduled. Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović said that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will have the final say on the decision regarding the appointment of members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments, which she declared yesterday to be destructive to the vital national interest of Republika Srpska after it was adopted at a Presidency session without a quorum. Cvijanović said that the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, who proposed the decision, had acted unlawfully, and that constitutional and procedural rules were violated on multiple occasions during the Presidency session.
