MINIĆ: WE WILL USE ALL MECHANISMS TO PROTECT SRPSKA'S POWERS

SRBAC, JULY 1 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said today that Republika Srpska will use all available mechanisms and capacities to preserve and maintain the powers it brought into the Dayton Peace Agreement.

SRBAC, JULY 1 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said today that Republika Srpska will use all available mechanisms and capacities to preserve and maintain the powers it brought into the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Commenting on the outvoting of the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović, Minić said that what had taken place was not a session, but "lawlessness." "Wherever there is an opportunity, in every possible way, there are attempts to exclude Republika Srpska from all processes. That is what creates problems for us in this region," Minić told reporters in Srbac. He said that Republika Srpska is entering an investment cycle worth BAM 7.5 billion and that he was in Srbac today to talk with people, because "they are what life is all about." "And instead, we are expected to constantly deal with the fact that someone at one level or another is trying to harm Republika Srpska and diminish its capacities. Frankly, I am getting quite annoyed by it. We will use all our mechanisms and all institutional capacities to ensure that Republika Srpska retains and preserves the powers it brought into the Dayton Peace Agreement," Minić stressed. Minić added that Republika Srpska wants to focus on issues that matter to its citizens, such as wheat yields, increases in pensions and wages, and all other matters that are important to every person in Republika Srpska. "It is becoming unbearable that we constantly have to prevent this kind of lawlessness. The reaction of all political parties, including those in the opposition, clearly shows how brutally the rights of Republika Srpska have been violated," Minić added. The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović put a veto on the decision appointing members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH, declaring it destructive to the vital national interest of Republika Srpska after it was adopted at a Presidency session without a quorum.
