SNSD CAUCUS IN THE PARLIAMENT CALLED TO BACK CVIJANOVIĆ'S VETO

BANJA LUKA, JULY 2 /SRNA/ – The SNSD Presidency today called on the party's caucus in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska to support the veto invoked by the Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović against BiH Presidency’s decision on unconstitutional appointment of members of the Commission preserving national monuments.

"The party Presidency is asking our caucus in the National Assembly to support the veto invoked by Cvijanović," SNSD Leader Milorad Dodik told the press after the SNSD Presidency session. Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović invoked the veto after the BiH Presidency adopted the decision on appointing members of the Commission preserving national monuments without a quorum, declaring it harmful to the vital national interests of Republika Srpska. She said the National Assembly of Republika Srpska would have the final say on the matter and noted that BiH Presidency Chair Denis Bećirović, who proposed the decision, acted unlawfully and that constitutional and procedural procedures had been violated on several occasions during the Presidency session.
