ZEČEVIĆ: BROD ATTRACTIVE FOR NEW INVESTMENTS

BROD, JULY 3 /SRNA/ – Brod Mayor Milan Zečević told SRNA that, following the BiH Council of Ministers' decision to establish the Brod Free Zone, the municipality will once again become an attractive destination for investment.

BROD, JULY 3 /SRNA/ – Brod Mayor Milan Zečević told SRNA that, following the BiH Council of Ministers' decision to establish the Brod Free Zone, the municipality will once again become an attractive destination for investment.

He said establishing the zone had been a lengthy process that began in March last year, adding that property and legal issues related to the land had been resolved swiftly. Zečević noted that Brod had been designated as an industrial and economic hub even before the last war. The establishment of the free customs zone, covering a total area of 84.04 hectares, is one of the municipality's key development projects and a prerequisite for attracting investment. The plan envisages the employment of around 200 workers in the Free Zone during its first two years of operation. The Council of Ministers yesterday adopted, at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, a decision establishing the Brod Free Zone. BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac said the Brod Free Zone would operate across three geographically separate sites, providing flexibility and supporting a diverse range of business activities. On December 11 last year, the Republika Srpska Government approved the Municipality of Brod's proposal to designate the area as a free zone, after which the complete documentation was submitted to the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.
