ČOVIĆ CALLS FOR RESOLUTION OF CONSTITUENT PEOPLES' LEGITIMATE REPRESENTATION
MOSTAR, JULY 13 /SRNA/ – HDZ BiH leader Dragan Čović said the issue of the legitimate representation of BiH's constituent peoples must finally be resolved.
Speaking at the news conference in Mostar after the meeting between delegations of the HDZ and the SNSD, Čović said the issue should be the first to be addressed after the next general elections. "We must resolve the issue of legitimate representation in BiH and ensure full legitimacy of representation," Čović said in response to reporters' questions about a new declaration introduced in the Croatian Parliament concerning the position of Croats in BiH. Čović noted that he had heard many proposals on the issue in recent years, but none had been carried through, because agreement among all three constituent peoples was required. He reiterated that BiH needs full constitutional equality and what he described as legitimate representation in the BiH Presidency and the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
