VUČIĆ: NO MATTER HOW MANY BORDERS ARE DRAWN, NO ONE WILL EVER AGAIN BE ABLE TO “TEAR APART” SERB PEOPLE

RIBNIK, 2 August /SRNA/ – Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić has said this evening that, no matter how many borders are drawn, no one will ever again be able to “tear apart” the Serb people living on both sides of the Drina River, emphasizing that Serbia would keep supporting and protecting Republika Srpska.

“We belong to the same people. They can draw five more borders and do whatever they want, but they will never be able to tear apart the Serb people as they did in the past. They will never again be able to turn us against one another. They will never again be able to break us apart,” Vučić said in Sitnica near Ribnik, where he attended a public assembly marking St. Elijah’s Day. He emphasized that Serbia would protect Republika Srpska and the Dayton Peace Agreement. “We respect BiH, but we will always tell everyone that Serbia is strong enough to help Republika Srpska, both economically and in every other way. We are not ashamed to say that we respect everyone else, but that we love Republika Srpska. No one can take that right away from us,” Vučić said. He stressed that there are no Bosnian Serbs, Šumadija Serbs or Montenegrin Serbs. “We are all Serbs. We share the same national interests, and we always will,” Vučić said, adding that anyone advocating such polycentric ideas is doing to the Serb people what the communists once did. According to him, these are ideas aimed at destroying the Serb national tissue, and the Serb people must oppose them. He called on Serbs in Srpska to protect and defend their country and to remain cautious and vigilant, while Serbia would continue to support Republika Srpska, which he thanked for its significant efforts to protect and defend Serbia. Vučić emphasized the importance of Serbia and Republika Srpska jointly commemorating significant dates in the history of Serbs, fostering a culture of remembrance concerning crimes committed against Serbs, and preserving the traditions of the Serb people. He stressed that differing views may exist, but Serbia must never criticize or take any action against Republika Srpska, nor should Republika Srpska criticize or take any action against Serbia.
