CVIJANOVIĆ LAYS WREATH AT MEMORIAL CHAPEL FOR FALLEN SOLDIERS

ISTOČNA ILIDŽA, AUGUST 4 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović laid a wreath in front of the Memorial Chapel for fallen soldiers from the area of Istočna Ilidža.

As part of the "August 4 - Lest We Forget" event, wreaths were also laid by the families of fallen soldiers, Republika Srpska National Assembly members, representatives of the Istočna Ilidža municipality, associations formed after the Defensive-Patriotic War, as well as representatives in BiH joint institutions. Earlier, a liturgy and memorial service were held at the Church of the Holy Hieromartyr Peter of Dabar-Bosnia in Vojkovići for fallen soldiers from the area of Istočna Ilidža. Through the heroic struggle of the local population and the Army of Republika Srpska, the attack by Muslim forces on Vojkovići, Grlica and Krupac was repelled on August 4, 1992, preventing their plan to advance towards Ilidža and Pale.
