KOŠARAC: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA WILL NOT BE SULJAGIĆ’S ALIBI OR COVER
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, AUGUST 10 /SRNA/ - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac said it was now obvious that /Srebrenica Memorial Center Director/ Emir Suljagić had been stoking inter-ethnic hatred for days in an attempt to prevent investigative authorities from doing their job following a complaint that came from the institution he heads.
“Suljagić is a man with dangerous intentions, prepared to foment a crisis for his own personal gain. It has become clear that behind his false accusations against Republika Srpska lies, above all, concern for his own position,” Košarac told SRNA, commenting on a report by the Istraga portal, according to which the case is a continuation of the conflict between Center Director Emir Suljagić and Hamdija Fejzić, chairman of the institution’s Governing Board. Košarac pointed out that it is clear that the Srebrenica Memorial Center is facing no pressure whatsoever from the institutions of Republika Srpska, but rather an intra-Bosniak conflict and mutual accusations of business and financial misconduct. Therefore, Košarac stressed, Suljagić should stop making abstract accusations and start answering the specific questions being raised by people within the Memorial Center. “Republika Srpska will be neither an alibi nor a cover behind which he can hide and evade accountability for his actions,” Košarac said. The list of employees and associates of the Srebrenica Memorial Center, based on which the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior has been questioning people in recent days, was provided to the Republika Srpska police by the Memorial Center itself, the Istraga portal reports, pointing out that behind the whole affair lies the continuation of the conflict between Center Director Emir Suljagić and Hamdija Fejzić, chairman of the institution’s Governing Board.
