SERB ATTACKED ON PAG, TWO DETAINED

PAG, AUGUST 19 /SRNA/ - A young Serbian man was attacked on national grounds on the Croatian island of Pag, resulting in the detention of two Croatian nationals.

The incident occurred yesterday in the town of Povljani, and the 21-year-old Serbian national sustained minor injuries, Zadar police said. Police said the suspects, aged 20 and 22, were under the influence of alcohol and behaved in a particularly insolent and disorderly manner. According to the police report, the 20-year-old suspect insulted the victim based on his national origin, after which both suspects physically attacked him. Following a criminal investigation, both men were brought before the court the same day under an expedited procedure. After questioning, the 20-year-old was ordered to remain in custody for 10 days and taken to prison, Croatian media report.
