KNEŽEVIĆ PRESENTS DOCUMENTS SHOWING SPAJIĆ IS A MEMBER OF SERBIAN ARMED FORCES
PODGORICA, AUGUST 20 /SRNA/ - Democratic People’s Party President Milan Knežević presented at a press conference a document which he claims shows that Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić is a member of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Knežević said that Montenegro, a NATO member, has a prime minister who attends NATO summits while being a member of the Armed Forces of Serbia, a militarily neutral country. He stressed that Spajić had for some time been accusing his party of being part of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s plan to prevent Montenegro from joining the EU, claiming that Spajić would not even be prime minister if it had not been for Vučić. “I have said it before, and I say it again: whenever Aleksandar Vučić’s name is mentioned, Milojko Spajić should stand up and cross himself, because without Vučić, Spajić would not be prime minister,” Knežević said. He showed the media a document which he claims proves that Spajić applied to join the Serbian Armed Forces on February 17, 2023, Montenegrin media reported. He said the second document was a confirmation from the Serbian Ministry of Defense stating that Spajić had been admitted to the reserve component of the Serbian Armed Forces, and the third was a decision requiring him to report for reserve service if necessary. According to him, he received the documents from “disappointed members of the Europe Now Movement”. He asked Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović, who was deputy president of the Europe Now Movement when Spajić allegedly applied to join the Serbian Armed Forces, whether he was aware of this information and whether he had been involved in “electoral fraud.” Knežević stressed that the publication of this information had created grounds for Spajić to resign and make himself available to the state authorities, given that he had knowingly misled the Montenegrin public and taken part in electoral fraud. “If he can be a member of the Serbian Armed Forces and prime minister of a NATO member state, then anyone can. Spajić has proved that, as a member of the Serbian Armed Forces, he is a greater Serb than I am,” Knežević added, saying that he believed Spajić had taken part in military exercises at Pasuljanske Livade.
