TRNINIĆ: FIRES UNDER CONTROL, NO ONE INJURED
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, AUGUST 25 /SRNA/ - The fire situation in Republika Srpska is much better today; only fires in Trebinje remain active, but they are not threatening residential buildings or the population, Acting Director of the Republika Srpska Civil Protection Administration Boris Trninić said.
Trninić stressed that all fires are under control and that, fortunately, there have been no injuries. He said that one helicopter of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior and a helicopter of the Armed Forces of BiH are still operating in Trebinje. Trninić recalled that an Air Tractor from the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton had also assisted in fighting the fires in Trebinje. According to him, firefighters and members of other services on the ground are making tremendous efforts to extinguish the fires. "The important thing is that there have been no casualties in Republika Srpska and that, hopefully, the fires in Trebinje and other parts of Srpska will be brought under control in the coming period," Trninić told the press. He recalled that yesterday, a fire on the border between Republika Srpska and Montenegro in Foča destroyed two abandoned structures and that the fire is under control. Trninić stressed that the fire on Trebević has also been brought under control and that there are no major problems. He recalled that the fire had spread in three directions, two of which have been contained.
