SELAK: CRIMINAL CODE SHOULD BE CONDITION FOR COUNCIL OF MINISTERS
BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 1 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska Goran Selak said that the representatives of the government and the opposition from Srpska should act jointly in the institutions of BiH, in order to open a question of all law provisions which were imposed by high representatives but are not applicable.
According to him, the representatives of Republika Srpska in institutions of BiH should jointly insist on the review of the imposed provisions. "We should request that we do not go further in the composition of the new Council of Ministers until the Criminal Code is put before the deputies and that all the provisions imposed by the high representative, which are not applicable, be repealed," said Selak. Selak told the press in Banja Luka that the expert conference on provisions of the Criminal Code of BiH which were imposed by the high representative Valentin Inzko was alteady held. He said that this issue was discussed also with the War Vererans Organization of Republika Srpska, as well as with the Ministry of Labor and Veterans and Disability Protection, and that the initiative to hold a special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska was considered. "During the discussion with the Veterans' Organization, with the Ministry, we also had some initiative for a special session of the National Assembly, but we all have to sit together here, both the government and the opposition that comes from Republika Srpska to the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly," says Selak. He emphasized that the issue does not refer only to one provision of the Criminal Code, but to the wider problem of imposed decisions of the high representative. "It is not just about that provision. All provisions imposed by the High Representative, which are not applicable, should be repealed," Selak noted. Selak pointed out that it is important for Republika Srpska to reach a common position on these issues and that the representatives of different political options from Srpska act in harmony when it comes to its interests in the institutions of BiH. "We all have to sit here together," said Selak.
