EUROPEAN DAY OF JEWISH CULTURE CELEBRATED WITH CONCERT

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 6 /SRNA/ — This evening in Banja Luka, the European Day of Jewish Culture, dedicated to the theme of love, was celebrated with a concert of Sephardic romances and an exhibition by the National Library of Israel titled "Song of Songs - A Jewish Love Story."

Irena Đorđević, director of the Jewish Cultural Centre "Arie Livne", told SRNA that the event aims to promote Jewish culture and cultural heritage in Republika Srpska and BiH, as well as Jewish heritage around the world. "We have organized a concert featuring a soprano performing Sephardic romances, including local and international arrangements. You can also see an exhibition by the National Library of Israel, presented on eight panels and titled 'Song of Songs – A Jewish Love Story'," Đorđević said ahead of the event. She said the event is traditionally held with the support of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Education and Culture.
