ĆERANIĆ: TAKE THREATS SERIOUSLY; MoI AND JUDICIARY MUST ACT NOW
BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ – Security expert Predrag Ćeranić told SRNA that threatening messages calling for jihad, sent to the registry office of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, must be taken seriously and that all legally prescribed measures must be taken to bring those responsible to justice.
"When it comes to death threats, the competent authorities, primarily the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior /MoI/ and the judiciary, have an obligation to take them seriously and undertake the measures prescribed by law," Ćeranić stressed. He said that the Srpska MoI has qualified personnel and appropriate technical capabilities in the field of cybersecurity, also cooperating with other police agencies to identify the perpetrators of this criminal offence and bring them to justice. "We can speculate about who is behind these threats, but it is evident that tensions are rising in the context of the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, as well as the case of Mevlid Jašarević and the possibility of his release or extradition to the United States," Ćeranić said. He stressed that the current atmosphere was conducive to individuals who take it upon themselves to issue such threats against senior officials of Republika Srpska. Threatening messages calling for jihad, the mutilation of baptised children and the killing of baptised citizens were received today at the registry office of the Republika Srpska National Assembly.
