STABLE PARLIAMENTARY MAJORITY AND RESPECT FOR ELECTORAL WILL - KEY PRINCIPLES
SARAJEVO, 29 OCTOBER /SRNA/ – Darijana Filipović, who was elected as the Croat BiH Presidency member n the general elections, said that a stable parliamentary majority, equality of the constituent peoples, respect for electoral will, and concrete development programmes are the key principles of the HDZ BiH in negotiations to form a government.
Filipović said that a stable parliamentary majority was essential, as attempts to change parliamentary majorities had led to institutional blockages. "It is important that we try to find a lasting solution so that the position of the Croat BiH Presidency member no longer depends on electoral mathematics, but is instead addressed through the Electoral Law," Filipović stressed. She said that any potential cooperation or discussions on possible coalitions would be based exclusively on the election results. "The relevant party bodies of HDZ BiH will make that decision, so it is premature to discuss it at this stage," Filipović said. She also commented on the appointment of BiH chief negotiator with the EU, stressing that this was an issue that needs to be resolved as soon as possible. "I regret that we did not appoint a chief negotiator during the previous term. That person will likely face the most demanding process BiH has ever encountered in terms of foreign policy. Any solution that is in accordance with the Constitution is acceptable to us," Filipović told FTV.
