SECURITY SITUATION STABLE, STORIES ON CONFLICTS POLITICAL PAMPHLETS AND LIES

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 4 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister, Radovan Višković, says the security situation in Republika Srpska is stable and that citizens have no reason to be alarmed, and the stories about some kind of conflicts are political pamphlets and lies.

"The Republika Srpska institutions will do everything to protect all people in Republika Srpska, their property, security in order for them to enjoy all their rights here, regardless of their national and religious affiliation," Višković said. Višković states that a significant presence of EUFOR vehicles was noticed on the streets of Banja Luka today, which is why the chairperson and Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, spoke in Sarajevo with the EUFOR commander BiH, Florin-Marian Barbu, and the commander of the Sarajevo NATO HQ, Matthew Valas, in order to call on these missions to react carefully and avoid causing certain tensions. Višković tells RTRS that the political situation in Republika Srpska was disturbed by the activities of the Court of BiH and handing down a political judgment against Republika Srpska President, Milorad Dodik, who was only doing his job in accordance with the Srpska Constitution. He points out that the staged political process against the president of Republika Srpska can have a negative impact on economic development, but also stresses that the Srpska authorities are doing everything to make citizens feel it as little as possible. How to refer to democracy and the rule of law, Višković asked, when the Court of BiH convicts someone just for doing his job according to the Constitution of the country where he is the president. "Those who beat the chest while talking about BiH have trampled on sovereignty, democracy, law, the Constitution, by recognising a man who acts like a colonial emperor in the 16th century," Višković said. Višković notes that it is unacceptable to have a foreigner in the 21st century in BiH who can change laws, cancel elections, electoral will and parliaments through decisions. He says the trial was speeded up due to drastic changes on the global political scene, noting that the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has behaved differently since the former ambassador Michael Murphy left Bosnia and Herzegovina. "Bosniak political representatives from Sarajevo see here their last chance to deal Republika Srpska and to achieve the goals they failed to achieve in the last war, to get a unitary BiH with Bosniak people being dominant," Višković believes. Višković stated that Sarajevo did not expect an institutional reaction from Republika Srpska, but hoped that "there would be an uproar for two or three days". "You hit the biggest institution of Republika Srpska, which is the president of the Republic. When you derogate that institution, everything else collapses by itself," Višković warned. On the other hand, he added, this was an opportunity for Christian Schmidt to test some of his mechanisms for adopting property laws in the coming period. Višković points out that Schmidt did not introduce himself anywhere as a high representative in the last ten days, but as the chair of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council /PIC/. Višković says Republika Srpska will not make any decision beyond the Republika Srpska Constitution, which is harmonized with the Constitution of BiH. Speaking about the announced meeting in Banja Luka, where the text of the new Republika Srpska constitution should be agreed upon, Višković says all those norms that are the product of high representatives’ imposition will be removed from the new highest legal act. "There were more than 120 interventions on the Constitution that were the product of the decisions imposed by high representatives in the last 25 years," Višković pointed out. Višković says the claims of certain Bosniak politicians and the public in the FBiH that the adoption of the law prohibiting the operation of the Prosecutor's Office, the Court of BiH and SIPA in Republika Srpska are the call for secession, because these institutions are not in the Constitution of BiH, are incorrect. "We appealed, called the officials in BiH, international officials, for not creating crisis in BiH. They are to blame for this situation, Republika Srpska is not. You are driving us out of BiH with your decisions," emphasized Višković. He is he is proud of the Republika Srpska institutions, which carried out the procedures according to the law and sold the land in Jahorina allocating BAM 42 million to the Republika Srpska Budget. "This bothered some in Sarajevo, while Igor Crnadak, PDP MP in the National Assembly, is speaking on their behalf, who justifies the funds that were paid to him to do what he is doing," Višković pointed out. Višković says the world powers for the first time started in the direction of creating peace, not wars, noting that Republika Srpska supports those who call for peace, prosperity and economic cooperation.
