ĆIRKOVIĆ: I DEDICATE THE TITLE TO ALL THE FALLEN SERBS

BIJELJINA, APRIL 28 /SRNA/ - Boxer Sara Ćirković, who won the professional world championship title, said that it belongs to the heroic Serbian people and that the title she won in a professional boxing match in Banja Luka is dedicated to all the fallen Serbs.

BIJELJINA, APRIL 28 /SRNA/ - Boxer Sara Ćirković, who won the professional world championship title, said that it belongs to the heroic Serbian people and that the title she won in a professional boxing match in Banja Luka is dedicated to all the fallen Serbs.

Ćirković pointed out that on the day she won her greatest title to date, the 80th anniversary of the breakout of inmates from the Jasenovac concentration camp was marked, where 500,000 Serbs were brutally killed. "That is why I dedicate this title to all the fallen Serbs and once again emphasize that from Banja Luka, I look toward Kosovo and Metohija," Ćirković emphasized. Although many believed that last night's match was a big challenge for her, that right after the World Championship, she was boxing something she hadn't done before, a professional match with 10 rounds, Ćirković emphasized that she knew she could do it. She pointed out that she belongs to a heroic nation, which has gone through various ordeals throughout the centuries, where women, alongside men who have proven to be unmatched in heroism on the planet, have also shown that they are made of steel, defending their homes and fighting for the survival of their families. "Serbian women are, as proven by their deeds, heroines of life. They do not accept cowardice and have no fear of any task, they are made of courage and perseverance. I am proud of my people and happy that through my profession I can show the whole world how strong and big our heart is, and that, just like boxing, which is a noble skill, we are the same," emphasized Ćirković. Ćirković added that the match against Frenchwoman Romane Mulai was demanding and that her opponent was highly motivated and prepared, but that she had prepared a champion's dance, one she was confident her opponent couldn’t "break." "When you have a professional journey like mine, you reach points where you realize that you have a divine gift and path, that you are part of the history of your people, and that you must stand with all your strength and heart by your people," emphasized Ćirković. She said she wanted to bring the world title to Republika Srpska, where she was born, and to Serbia, for which she boxes, a country she loves immensely, and that she considers them to be one nation, because it is one people, says a press release from the Boxing Federation of Serbia. Ćirković emphasized that she worked hard with her coach and the entire team to achieve this result. Since winning the world junior title, she has wished to visit the monasteries in the southern Serbian province. "Now, as the world professional champion, I look towards Kosovo and Metohija from Banja Luka. Soon, I will embark on a journey to the holy Serbian land, so that my heart may be full and complete," said Ćirković. After winning European and world junior titles, European gold medals in senior Olympic boxing and the under-22 category, as well as bronze at the World Amateur Boxing Championship, Ćirković has now reached the world pedestal.
