CVIJANOVIĆ: IT IS GOOD THAT INSTITUTIONS RESPONDED APPROPRIATELY REGARDING CUSTOMS TARIFFS

SARAJEVO, JUNE 13 /SRNA/ – The BiH Presidency, at today's extraordinary session, addressed the expansion of economic cooperation with the US and the bilateral regulation of customs tariffs, thereby giving support to the initiatives of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and the Prime Ministers of Srpska and the FBiH, as well as to the already initiated activities of the Council of Ministers, said the Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović.

"It is good that all institutions responded in an appropriate manner, including the Presidency of BiH. Given that foreign trade between BiH and the U.S. is at a very low level, these activities by the competent institutions should also be seen as an incentive to enhance economic cooperation between the two sides," said Cvijanović. She stated that she had the opportunity to discuss this important topic in Washington with Howard Lutnick, US Secretary of Commerce in the administration of President Donald Trump. Cvijanović said that she informed the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto about the content of the conversation last week, and today also informed her colleagues in the BiH Presidency. "Although we understand that BiH is neither a political nor economic priority for the United States, I believe that all these activities by institutions at all levels of government in BiH can contribute to accelerating certain processes in this area," Cvijanović emphasized.
